Every church has it's own theology and history. Ours is no different. Click on our Our Beliefs to get the details on our theology & history. For now, you should know that we believe in the eternal God, Jesus the Word incarnated, and the living Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word to humanity. From the Bible we have our CORE FOUR commitments that we strive to live up to. And we do these by LOVING, SERVING, and GROWING.
We believe that the messae of Jesus is actually good news . . . the Gospel. We know that historically the global church has not done a great job at presenting who Jesus really was and what Jesus is really about. So we take seriously the command that we are to "preach" Jesus everywhere. Sometimes that means introducing people to Jesus for the first time. Sometimes it means re-introducing them to the actual Jesus of the Bible...the the religious figure of society. We do this formally and informally; in the church and outside the church; collectively and individually. This also means that we must be serious students of the Word of God.
Jesus had several disciples in his time on earth. A disciple is a student; someone who is learning from someone else. Before Jesus ascended into the heavens He commanded his disciples to go and make other disciples. This is a command from Jesus, so we take it seriously and we do it the way Jesus did...by living and walking with people. Discipleship is not about church attendance. It's about being involved in the lives of others so they can see Jesus for themselves and teach others to do the same thing.
God never called people to live their lives in isolation. In fact, it's hard to find language about the individual in the Old Testament at all. God calls us to community. This means that we must have love and compassion for one another so that we can grow and serve. It is through the love that we demonstrate to others, that people will identify us as followers of Jesus.
We believe that we are instructed to live lifestyles of worship that are dedicated to God. We assemble together for worship service and Bible study. But beyond that, we live each day in ways that honor and bring glory to God. We do this so we can present and re-present Jesus. Yeah, the whole cycle starts all over again. Cool, huh?
